# Reno house cleaning questions: what 1,287 customer calls reveal

You want a clean home, not homework. So we reviewed customer questions and requests on our Reno phone line. The biggest topic? What actually gets cleaned. Here’s what came up, and what’s worth sorting out before you book. These 1,287 calls contain substantive questions or explicit service requests; they are not 1,287 different people. New-booking and existing-customer conversations are mixed together.

By Altitude Cleaning Crew · Updated September 5, 2026
Call review: January 1 through September 4, 2026, ending at 6:20 PM Pacific. September is partial.

**The short answer:** start with the checklist, not just the price. Get the extras, date, and payment terms clear before you book. We serve Reno and Sparks; check your address with us first.

What came up most

## Nearly half included scope questions or requests.

Scope, included tasks, and add-ons came up in 49.2% of customer calls with questions or requests. Booking and price followed. Get clear on the job before comparing the number at the bottom of the quote.

Base: 1,287 customer calls with a substantive question or explicit service request, January 1 through September 4, 2026\. Not all calls. Topics overlap, so percentages do not add up to 100%.

Scope49.2%

Booking35.2%

Pricing35.1%

Follow-up32.3%

Payment25.3%

Percentages are rounded to one decimal place. Bars are scaled to the largest category for readability, not to 100%. Scope includes task requests; follow-up includes sending information or asking for contact.

These are broad topic groups, not the five most-repeated sentences. Here’s what each one covers, with a useful next step.

Each call counts once within a topic and may appear in several topics. Repeat callers can contribute on separate calls. Scope includes requests for specific tasks, not just questions about what is included. Payment and follow-up topics can concern existing service, not only new bookings. The routing line does not establish callers’ locations or how they found the business.

## The questions worth asking. The plain-English answers.

The questions below are editorial paraphrases and practical follow-ups, not customer quotations or exact-question rankings. Answers reflect our published checklist and terms, checked September 5, 2026.

### What is the difference between a Routine Clean and a Deep Clean?

Think upkeep versus reset. A Routine Clean keeps a home in good shape: kitchen counters and sinks, bathrooms, reachable surface dusting, floors, and trash. A Deep Clean adds reset work such as baseboards, door frames, cabinet fronts, reachable detail dusting, and heavier kitchen and bathroom buildup. Go by the buildup you can see today, not just the bedroom count.

Name the tasks that matter to you. Inside the fridge and oven are add-ons for Routine and Deep Cleans; they are included in Move-In / Move-Out cleaning when empty, with normal-use oven buildup. Window tracks and blinds need approval. Garage or basement sweeping must be in the quote. A request is not automatically an included task.

#### Choose by condition, not bedroom count

Home condition

Maintained home; light everyday buildup

Suitable service

Routine Clean for regular upkeep

Not automatically included

Baseboards and cabinet fronts; fridge and oven interiors cost extra.

Home condition

Visible buildup; overdue for a reset

Suitable service

Deep Clean adds baseboards, cabinet fronts and detail work

Not automatically included

Fridge and oven interiors are add-ons. No mold, biohazards or restoration.

Home condition

Empty home between occupants

Suitable service

Move-In / Move-Out includes empty appliance and cabinet interiors

Not automatically included

No carpet extraction or moving heavy appliances. Oven inclusion covers normal-use buildup.

### How do I find the earliest available cleaning appointment?

Have a date in mind? Send us your address, clean type, preferred date, and a backup if you have one. Availability depends on the home, scope, and schedule. One important detail: asking for a quote doesn’t reserve a spot. Get the scope, price, and appointment confirmed before you plan around it.

For a move-out, tell us when keys must be returned and when movers will finish. Ask about the arrival window and expected completion separately. If you need the home ready by a particular time, say so before booking rather than assuming an early arrival guarantees an early finish.

#### Move-out timing checklist

1. Get the landlord’s walkthrough and key-return deadlines in writing.
2. Have movers finish first. Empty the fridge, oven, cabinets and closets before interior cleaning.
3. Confirm the cleaning appointment, arrival window and finish-by requirement. Leave room between cleaning and the walkthrough; do not assume a same-day turnaround.
4. Check booked tasks after cleaning, document concerns promptly, then complete the walkthrough and return keys as agreed.

Review the [move-in / move-out scope](https://altitudecleaningcrew.pages.dev/services/move-in-out-cleaning) with your landlord’s list. Cleaning is not a promise of a returned security deposit.

[Ask about your preferred date](https://altitudecleaningcrew.pages.dev/contact)

### Is house cleaning a flat rate or an hourly charge?

You’re buying the clean, not the clock. We quote a flat rate for the confirmed clean and checklist, not a fixed number of hours. Every one-time residential cleaning has a $249 minimum, including smaller jobs. Your final quote depends on home size, condition, service type, and scope. That’s the starting floor, not the price of every home.

If the home needs more work than described, we stop and call. You decide what happens next. You can approve additional cleaning at $60 per service hour, or keep the original price and agree on which checklist tasks come first and what may not be finished. One service hour is one cleaner for one hour or two cleaners for 30 minutes. We never add a charge without your approval.

### Can I send photos or get my cleaning details confirmed?

Absolutely. Call or text 775-376-5527, or use the contact page. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Explain whether you need a quote, a booking change, or help with a recent clean, and say how you would like the office to follow up.

Send clear photos of buildup and priority areas, not people, paperwork, or valuables. For heavier buildup, send photos before booking so we can confirm whether an ordinary deep clean fits. Photos help clarify scope; they do not replace a confirmed quote. Before the visit, keep the written checklist, approved add-ons, price, and appointment details together so you can check them easily.

[Contact the office](https://altitudecleaningcrew.pages.dev/contact)

### Will my card be charged automatically, and is there a deposit?

Keep a valid card on file so payment is one less thing to chase. Billing is processed electronically through Stripe, and your card may be charged after the cleaning according to your confirmed payment terms, with a receipt emailed to you. New clients pay a $50 booking deposit toward the first cleaning total; it is not an extra $50 on top of the quoted clean. Existing and recurring clients do not pay this first-time deposit.

For a first-time deposited appointment, canceling or rescheduling with at least 48 hours’ notice leaves the deposit as nonrefundable account credit. With less notice, or if the cleaner cannot access the home, the deposit is retained and is the only cancellation or lockout charge. Clients without that deposit have different cancellation fees. Check the terms before booking; do not assume a cancellation means a cash refund. For a receipt, charge, or tipping question, ask the office to explain the amount before authorizing anything additional.

For deposited first visits, rescheduling follows the same notice rules as cancellation. For clients without a first-time deposit, 24–48 hours’ notice has a $50 fee and less than 24 hours has a $100 fee. Recurring promotional commitments have separate terms.

### How should I prepare the home, keys, and pets?

No need to clean before the cleaner. Just clear clothing, toys, dishes, paperwork, and personal items from the surfaces and floors you want us to reach. Confirm working keys or access instructions, parking, and which rooms are included. Secure pets during cleaning. If you will not be home, agree on entry and how the office can reach you about a scope or access issue.

For interior appliance, cabinet, or closet cleaning, empty those areas first. Move-In / Move-Out cleaning works best in an empty home; boxes and furniture limit what is reachable. Share product sensitivities and delicate surfaces ahead of time. Cleaning professionals bring supplies unless you arrange otherwise in advance.

[Read the before-we-arrive checklist](https://altitudecleaningcrew.pages.dev/checklist)

### How long will it take, and how many cleaners will come?

There’s no honest one-size-fits-all answer. Home size, buildup, booked tasks, access, and crew size affect elapsed time. Your cleaning may be completed by one cleaner or a team. Crew size does not change the confirmed flat-rate price or booked checklist, and a specific headcount is not guaranteed.

Need to be out the door by a certain time? Tell us that, not just how many cleaners you’d prefer. Ask what is currently planned and whether the job fits that window. For repeat service, choose a frequency that maintains the home between visits and confirm the per-visit scope and price; do not assume an initial reset and ongoing upkeep are the same job.

[Compare recurring, deep, and move-related cleaning](https://altitudecleaningcrew.pages.dev/services)

### What if something from my checklist was missed?

Give your priority areas a quick look before the cleaner leaves whenever possible. Spot something missed? Say so while it can still be fixed. If you discover it afterward, contact the office within 24 hours and send photos. We’ll check the concern against your booked checklist and approved add-ons under the satisfaction policy.

Tell us the room and the task. Specifics help us get to the fix. For missed work covered by the policy, the fix is a return visit to address it, not an automatic refund. Permanent staining, restoration, biohazard cleanup, and tasks outside the booked scope are not the same as missed checklist work.

#### Report missed work in three steps

1. Check your booked checklist and approved add-ons. Point out missed tasks before the cleaner leaves when possible.
2. Contact the office within 24 hours of cleaning. Name the room and missed task and send photos; don’t wait for the broader dispute window.
3. The office reviews eligibility against the booked scope. Covered missed work is addressed on a return visit, not through an automatic refund.

[Read the satisfaction policy](https://altitudecleaningcrew.pages.dev/terms)

## A cheap quote is only useful if it covers the job.

Send each provider the same home details and task list. A lower quote may exclude appliance interiors, baseboards, or heavy buildup that another includes. Ask what is included, what costs extra, and what happens if the home needs more work than expected. Confirm whether the amount is a flat rate or a time-based estimate.

Next, check the practical stuff: appointment confirmation, arrival window, access, expected finish, supplies, and the process for a missed task. If a same-day deadline matters more than a flexible date, choose the provider that can confirm that requirement. If you need carpet extraction, mold remediation, or restoration, choose a qualified specialist rather than treating those jobs as ordinary house cleaning. Altitude Cleaning Crew does not provide those services.

One last check: read the deposit, cancellation, and recurring-service terms before you commit. A credit is not the same as a refund. Keep the written quote and checklist so both you and the provider have the same definition of a completed clean. Clear scope is more useful than a broad promise to clean everything.

### Before you call, grab these four things.

- Address, bedroom and bathroom count, approximate size, and occupied or empty status.
- Current buildup, pets, requested rooms, appliance interiors, and your top priorities.
- Preferred date, backup date, and any firm finish-by deadline.
- Access plan and the best way to reach you for approval or follow-up.

## How we counted. And what this can’t tell us.

This is publisher-owned customer-call research, not a survey of Reno residents, all cleaning companies, or new leads. The review covers available Quo transcripts for calls created from January 1, 2026 at midnight Pacific through September 4, 2026 at 6:20:05 PM Pacific. Only Altitude Cleaning Crew’s Reno line was selected; other phone lines were not pooled. That does not establish a caller’s geography or acquisition brand.

AI-assisted semantic review considered full dialogue in 5,668 usable transcripts and identified 1,561 customer calls. Substantive customer questions and explicit buying or service requests were included. Staff-only topics, factual answers, simple agreement, greetings, and unrelated conversation were not counted. Applicants, cleaners, vendors, spam, and wrong numbers were excluded; unclear roles were not assumed to be customers.

We divide calls containing each topic by the 1,287 customer calls with substantive questions or explicit service requests, multiply by 100, and round to one decimal place. Each call counts once per topic. Incoming and outgoing calls are included. Topics overlap and people can call more than once. Broad groups are not exact-wording frequencies, unique-customer totals, proof of confusion, conversion rates, or service-defect rates. This page shows the five leading groups, not every coded topic.

Targeted second-pass checks reviewed role and question evidence, but there was no audio review or human double-coding. Transcription, speaker identification, and semantic classification can contain errors. Unavailable, empty, or otherwise unusable transcripts cannot contribute findings; missing evidence does not mean no questions occurred. Coverage is limited to records accessible at the time of review. September is partial, so these findings should not be read as a monthly demand trend.

No customer names, phone numbers, addresses, recordings, access details, raw quotations, transcripts, or call-level records are published. Private source material is not available for download. Current linked service pages, the checklist, and booking terms govern new bookings, not historical comments from callers. No next analysis or recurring monitoring is scheduled.

### For writers and publishers

Three findings you can cite, without turning calls into people:

- [Scope led the five published topics](https://altitudecleaningcrew.pages.dev/reno-house-cleaning-questions-report-2026#finding-scope): 49.2% (633 calls) included questions or requests about cleaning scope, included tasks or add-ons.
- [Booking and pricing were nearly level](https://altitudecleaningcrew.pages.dev/reno-house-cleaning-questions-report-2026#finding-booking): 35.2% (453 calls) concerned booking or availability; 35.1% (452 calls) concerned price or quotes. That small gap is not evidence of a meaningful preference.
- [The dataset also captures service follow-up](https://altitudecleaningcrew.pages.dev/reno-house-cleaning-questions-report-2026#finding-follow-up): 32.3% (416 calls) included information delivery, callback or contact; 25.3% (326 calls) included payment, billing, refund or tipping. These are not complaint rates.

All shares use the same 1,287-call base. Topics overlap; do not add counts to estimate distinct callers or combine these shares as if categories were exclusive.

{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"FAQPage","@id":"https://www.altitudecleaningcrew.com/reno-house-cleaning-questions-report-2026#faq","mainEntity":[{"@type":"Question","name":"What is the difference between a Routine Clean and a Deep Clean?","acceptedAnswer":{"@type":"Answer","text":"Think upkeep versus reset. A Routine Clean keeps a home in good shape: kitchen counters and sinks, bathrooms, reachable surface dusting, floors, and trash. A Deep Clean adds reset work such as baseboards, door frames, cabinet fronts, reachable detail dusting, and heavier kitchen and bathroom buildup. Go by the buildup you can see today, not just the bedroom count. Name the tasks that matter to you. Inside the fridge and oven are add-ons for Routine and Deep Cleans; they are included in Move-In / Move-Out cleaning when empty, with normal-use oven buildup. Window tracks and blinds need approval. Garage or basement sweeping must be in the quote. A request is not automatically an included task."}},{"@type":"Question","name":"How do I find the earliest available cleaning appointment?","acceptedAnswer":{"@type":"Answer","text":"Have a date in mind? Send us your address, clean type, preferred date, and a backup if you have one. Availability depends on the home, scope, and schedule. One important detail: asking for a quote doesn’t reserve a spot. Get the scope, price, and appointment confirmed before you plan around it. For a move-out, tell us when keys must be returned and when movers will finish. Ask about the arrival window and expected completion separately. If you need the home ready by a particular time, say so before booking rather than assuming an early arrival guarantees an early finish."}},{"@type":"Question","name":"Is house cleaning a flat rate or an hourly charge?","acceptedAnswer":{"@type":"Answer","text":"You’re buying the clean, not the clock. We quote a flat rate for the confirmed clean and checklist, not a fixed number of hours. Every one-time residential cleaning has a $249 minimum, including smaller jobs. Your final quote depends on home size, condition, service type, and scope. That’s the starting floor, not the price of every home. If the home needs more work than described, we stop and call. You decide what happens next. You can approve additional cleaning at $60 per service hour, or keep the original price and agree on which checklist tasks come first and what may not be finished. One service hour is one cleaner for one hour or two cleaners for 30 minutes. We never add a charge without your approval."}},{"@type":"Question","name":"Can I send photos or get my cleaning details confirmed?","acceptedAnswer":{"@type":"Answer","text":"Absolutely. Call or text 775-376-5527, or use the contact page. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Explain whether you need a quote, a booking change, or help with a recent clean, and say how you would like the office to follow up. Send clear photos of buildup and priority areas, not people, paperwork, or valuables. For heavier buildup, send photos before booking so we can confirm whether an ordinary deep clean fits. Photos help clarify scope; they do not replace a confirmed quote. Before the visit, keep the written checklist, approved add-ons, price, and appointment details together so you can check them easily."}},{"@type":"Question","name":"Will my card be charged automatically, and is there a deposit?","acceptedAnswer":{"@type":"Answer","text":"Keep a valid card on file so payment is one less thing to chase. Billing is processed electronically through Stripe, and your card may be charged after the cleaning according to your confirmed payment terms, with a receipt emailed to you. New clients pay a $50 booking deposit toward the first cleaning total; it is not an extra $50 on top of the quoted clean. Existing and recurring clients do not pay this first-time deposit. For a first-time deposited appointment, canceling or rescheduling with at least 48 hours’ notice leaves the deposit as nonrefundable account credit. With less notice, or if the cleaner cannot access the home, the deposit is retained and is the only cancellation or lockout charge. Clients without that deposit have different cancellation fees. Check the terms before booking; do not assume a cancellation means a cash refund. For a receipt, charge, or tipping question, ask the office to explain the amount before authorizing anything additional."}},{"@type":"Question","name":"How should I prepare the home, keys, and pets?","acceptedAnswer":{"@type":"Answer","text":"No need to clean before the cleaner. Just clear clothing, toys, dishes, paperwork, and personal items from the surfaces and floors you want us to reach. Confirm working keys or access instructions, parking, and which rooms are included. Secure pets during cleaning. If you will not be home, agree on entry and how the office can reach you about a scope or access issue. For interior appliance, cabinet, or closet cleaning, empty those areas first. Move-In / Move-Out cleaning works best in an empty home; boxes and furniture limit what is reachable. Share product sensitivities and delicate surfaces ahead of time. Cleaning professionals bring supplies unless you arrange otherwise in advance."}},{"@type":"Question","name":"How long will it take, and how many cleaners will come?","acceptedAnswer":{"@type":"Answer","text":"There’s no honest one-size-fits-all answer. Home size, buildup, booked tasks, access, and crew size affect elapsed time. Your cleaning may be completed by one cleaner or a team. Crew size does not change the confirmed flat-rate price or booked checklist, and a specific headcount is not guaranteed. Need to be out the door by a certain time? Tell us that, not just how many cleaners you’d prefer. Ask what is currently planned and whether the job fits that window. For repeat service, choose a frequency that maintains the home between visits and confirm the per-visit scope and price; do not assume an initial reset and ongoing upkeep are the same job."}},{"@type":"Question","name":"What if something from my checklist was missed?","acceptedAnswer":{"@type":"Answer","text":"Give your priority areas a quick look before the cleaner leaves whenever possible. Spot something missed? Say so while it can still be fixed. If you discover it afterward, contact the office within 24 hours and send photos. We’ll check the concern against your booked checklist and approved add-ons under the satisfaction policy. Tell us the room and the task. Specifics help us get to the fix. For missed work covered by the policy, the fix is a return visit to address it, not an automatic refund. Permanent staining, restoration, biohazard cleanup, and tasks outside the booked scope are not the same as missed checklist work."}}]}
